Subject: Io Workshop Augusts 21-22 at LOWELL
Hello All!
I have been holding off on saying anything more about the workshop
till I found a place it could be held. All of the USGS rooms are filled
with a PGG panel review (carto?). We are lucky that John Spencer found a
~12 person room at Lowell that we can use. Has projector and a
teleconference phone.
I propose the following crude agenda:
21AUG03
Morning - Updates on recent research efforts (5-10 minutes with 5-10
minutes of discussion) Please let me know if you want to make one of these
informal presentations.
Afternoon - Future prospects for spacecraft to Io (JIMO, etc) John
and Ashley are obvious persons to give us some insight.
Evening - Fun dinner somewhere...
22AUG03
Morning - Updates on future research plans (chance to look for
collaborations, etc.) I know that Dave Williams is leading a new mapping
effort... 5-10 minute discussions about where we hope to go in the next
year or two. Please let me know if you want to make one of these informal
presentations.
Afternoon - Future Earth-based observations of Io. I include
Earth-orbiting spacecraft?
Please let me know if you plan to make this workshop. And ask around
if others want to come. The room can't hold a massive meeting like last
year, but we still want to invite everyone!
Hope to see you all here in a few weeks!
Laz
