The workshop is jointly organized by the Astronomy Institute of
Catania University, Catania Astrophysical Observatory, Bureau des
Longitudes de Paris and Area di Ricerca di Catania of the National
Research Council. It will be held in Catania at the Area di Ricerca di
Catania, from 4 to 8 March, 1997.\\ This workshop is aimed to prepare
the campaign of observations of the mutual occultations and eclipses
of the galilean satellites of Jupiter occurring from April to December
1997 and also to prepare future observations of the natural planetary
satellites (CCD, infrared,...) for astrometric and physical purpose.\\
 
This workshop is mainly addressed to observers.\\
 
Communications should present methods of observations and transmit
information and experiences to observers in order to improve the
quality of the data which will be obtained. Posters may be presented,
but only as a support of an oral communication.\\
 The number of participants will be limited.\\
No registration fee is required.\\

The local organizing committee has arranged for blocks of rooms to be 
available for workshop participants at Jolly hotel, Central Palace Hotel, 
Villa Dina, Albergo Moderno and Royal Hotel. The daily rates span from 
italian lire 90.000 (60 $) to 150.000 (100$).\\
All the hotels are in the center of Catania at walking distance from the 
workshop venue.\\
