Spencer) Date: Sat, 8 Apr 95 05:55:10 MST To: oleroemer@lowell.edu Subject: Io Volcano News Cc: spencer@lowell.edu Content-Length: 520 X-Lines: 11 Status: RO The bright 2.3 micron hot spot seen in eclipse on 95/03/23 and 95/03/30 (but not 95/03/16) was seen in Jupiter eclipse again this morning (9:30 UT, 95/04/08). It had faded considerably since 3/30, but Io was still brighter at 2.3 microns than it had been on 3/16. The bright spot disappeared quite early in the Jupiter occultation, just before the predicted occultatoin of the center of Io, and thus does *not* appear to be Loki which would have disappeared later.
